Bob Potter OBE, owner & Managing Director of The Lakeside Group of Companies (Bob Potter Leisure Ltd) certainly has the entrepreneurial spirit.
In 1971/2, he bought Wharfenden House & it’s surrounding grounds and Lake in Frimley Green, Nr.Camberley in Surrey UK with the intention of opening a high class dinner/dance venue in order to capitalize on his years of experience in the music business.
From the 40's through to the 60’s, Bob was a musician and touring show promoter presenting & hiring some of the biggest chart names around.

Lakeside began life as a 500 seater venue but business boomed so much that over the next few years it was developed to a capacity of approximately 1000 .This increased size enabled him to book even bigger stars.
Lakeside soon became famous on the cabaret circuit of the 70's 80's, & 90's and continues to be almost uniquely successful in the new millennium.
In the late 70's, Lakeside fell victim to a devastating fire but by 1978 Bob had resurrected the club and re-opened an even better venue.
Top International Stars, Royalty, high profile politicians all soon became regular visitors establishing Lakeside as “The Place to go”.

Over the years Bob has expanded in the Hotel & Leisure business by building The Lakeside International Hotel in Frimley Green, Potters International Hotel in Aldershot and more recently yet another hotel in Frimley Green, The Continental.
In addition he opened a superb family restaurant & Bars (“Potter’s”) in nearby Mytchett alongside the beautiful Basingstoke Canal.
His next project which is due to open in Summer 2008, is the development of a Golf Driving Range and visitors centre in Mytchett (UK).
